About Us

Mission, Vision & Values

Valued Education, a proud initiative of Light Center in Kabuga, Kigali, Rwanda, was launched over two years ago to empower the next generation through innovative, child-centered learning. We started as a small community program and have grown into a vibrant hub for over 300 children, offering a variety of weekly programs in academics, arts, sports, and life skills.

Valued is more than a place to learn; it’s a place to make friends and feel a sense of belonging and support.

Intore Mubiruhuko

A cultural experience program where participants learn the traditional Intore dance, its history, and the values it represents in Rwandan heritage. The sessions focus on discipline, unity, strength, and cultural pride.

Alongside the training, there will be interactive workshops on traditional drums, costumes, and storytelling, allowing participants to fully immerse themselves in Rwandan culture.

Prizes: Top 3 teams receive tech kits, mentorship, and invitations to represent Rwanda in regional competitions.

Tourism Workshop

An engaging workshop focused on exploring Rwanda’s tourism potential. Participants will gain insights into sustainable tourism, cultural heritage promotion, and eco-friendly practices that support community development.

The program includes interactive sessions with industry experts, case studies on successful tourism initiatives, and practical strategies for improving visitor experiences.

Special Note: Open to students, professionals, and community members passionate about tourism and cultural preservation.

Open Mic & Talent Night

A vibrant celebration of music, poetry, comedy, and dance. The stage is open to all students and community members to share their unique talents. This is a safe, supportive space where creativity is celebrated and friendships are built.

Expect an energetic night with a live band, spotlight moments for performers, and opportunities for collaboration between artists.
